Dr. Sabine Best serves as a Research Assistant at the Department of Media and Communication Studies and Academic Advisor for the Master's Program in Health Communication at the University of Erfurt's Faculty of Arts and Humanities. She is also affiliated with the Institute for Planetary Health Behavior (IPB).
Her research focuses on developing participatory approaches to create more understandable and needs-oriented health communication through collaboration with diverse target groups. She combines qualitative empirical methods with creative approaches including design thinking and co-creation to explore the potential and limitations of participatory research.

Dr. Best received the Teaching Award for the Best Course Concept from Friedrich Schiller University Jena in 2022. Her teaching approach involves developing and testing interventions with bachelor's and master's students while teaching both creative and empirical methods in practical applications.
With a doctorate in communication science, she studied media management and is a trained media designer. Her professional background includes project coordination roles at the Bauhaus University Weimar, Mainz University of Applied Sciences, and the Chamber of Crafts Erfurt, where she developed innovative marketing and communication concepts and designed formats for technology access.
