معرفی
Dr. Saber Sami is an Associate Professor in Dementia Research at the Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia. His academic background includes a PhD in Biomedical Science and Engineering from Aalborg University (Denmark), followed by research roles at the University of Birmingham, University of Cambridge, and others. He specializes in multi-disciplinary approaches combining multi-modal imaging, behavioral methods, and computational modeling to study cortical reorganization in chronic conditions like dementia.
Education:
- PhD in Biomedical Science and Engineering, Aalborg University, Denmark
Research Interests: Dr. Sami’s work focuses on understanding the effects of dementia on brain structure and function, healthy ageing, and chronic neurological conditions. His research integrates advanced neuroimaging techniques, machine learning models, and behavioral assessments to develop diagnostic tools and interventions. Current projects include anxiety assessment in stroke patients, VR-based therapies for fibromyalgia, and the role of dietary polyphenols in neuroprotection.
Grants & Projects:
- Improving Anxiety Assessment in Stroke (NIHR-funded)
- aeon Toolkit for Time Series Machine Learning (EPSRC)
- Deep Phenotyping Study on Brain Function During Perimenopause
Labs & Collaborations: Member of the Lifespan Health and Norwich Epidemiology Centre. Collaborations span institutions in the UK, focusing on dementia, neurorehabilitation, and computational neuroscience.
