Saad Ali Khan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance at HEC Montréal. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Economics from Queen’s University, an M.Math in Statistics from the University of Waterloo, an M.A. in Economics from the University of British Columbia, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Waterloo.
His research focuses on empirical finance, market microstructure, and financial economics. Recent work includes analyzing trading volume dynamics and nonstandard errors in financial data. He has supervised master's theses and projects exploring topics like intraday trading volume forecasting and CEO overconfidence effects on stock performance during the pandemic.
Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Financial Management and Empirical Finance Methodology. He has been affiliated with HEC Montréal since at least 2023, maintaining an active role in both research and education.
