Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sirri Tiryaki is an Associate Professor at the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Bingöl University. He holds a Doctorate in Ancient History from Atatürk University (2014) and has been actively involved in academic research since 2010. His research focuses on ancient Anatolian civilizations, Urartian studies, Roman military history, and archaeological surveys in Eastern Anatolia. He has led major research projects including the Bingöl Surface Archaeological Survey funded by Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism (2019–2023).

Research Interests:
Prof. Tiryaki’s work spans ancient economic systems, historical geography, and cultural interactions between Anatolia and Mesopotamia. He has authored studies on Urartian westward expansion routes, Roman military fortifications along the Euphrates, and the socio-economic structures of highland Anatolia during the Bronze Age.

His recent work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to archaeology and history, with a focus on material culture analysis, frontier studies, and the socio-political dynamics of ancient kingdoms such as Melid. He has contributed to international journals like Turkish Studies and Journal of Human Sciences.
