SAİD SAMİ is an Assistant Professor at Gaziantep University, affiliated with the Faculty of Theology and the Department of Philosophy and Religious Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Religious Sciences (2024) from Necmettin Erbakan University, an M.A. in the same field from Istanbul University (2019), and a Licence degree in Theology from Istanbul University (2015) via Evening Education.

SAMİ’s research centers on the Psychology of Religion, exploring how religious practices and beliefs influence Posttraumatic Growth, Grief Processes, and Cognitive Distortions stemming from childhood neglect and abuse. His recent studies analyze the role of Religious Rituals in mitigating trauma from the COVID-19 pandemic and other global crises.
He has authored two books, including Childhood Wounds and the Conception of God: Traces of Neglect and Abuse (2024) and Atheists Mourn Too (2021), and published six peer-reviewed articles in journals like Journal of Sakarya University Faculty of Theology and FSM Scientific Research Journal. His work frequently merges qualitative methodologies with interdisciplinary analyses of religion, mental health, and resilience.
