Dr. S.S. Bultena is an Assistant Professor at Radboud University, affiliated with both the Centre for Language Studies and the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures. Her research focuses on second language acquisition and bilingual processing, employing EEG, eye-tracking, and behavioral tasks to investigate first language influence on second language learning. Key interests include cognates and error-based learning. She holds an H-index of 10 and has received the Onderwijsprijs Letteren - junior teacher award in 2019.
Her teaching spans courses like Introduction to Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, and Research Topics in Second Language Acquisition. She leads the project The language leak: The statistics of language as a novel window into the multilingual mind (2023–2028).
