Assoc. Prof. Rıdvan Turhan is an academic at Istanbul University, currently serving in the Faculty of Literature, Department of Sociology. His research focuses on the sociology of institutions, economic sociology, and historical sociology, with a particular emphasis on Turkish intellectual history and minority integration.

His publications examine topics like the 1929 economic crisis in Turkish media, Jewish modernization in Turkey, and intellectual influences on Ziya Gökalp. Turhan also participated in the WORLDBRIDGES FP7 project and served as peer reviewer for multiple journals.
