Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Quay is the acting managing director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics (IAF) since January 1, 2022. He is a professor specializing in energy-efficient high-frequency electronics and leads one of Germany’s key research institutes in semiconductor development. His leadership focuses on modernizing research topics and organizational structures, with strong emphasis on sustainability, quantum technologies, and digital transformation within applied physics and engineering.
His research interests center on energy-efficient electronics, which he views as pivotal for climate neutrality and digitalization.
