Rónán Dunbar

Rónán Dunbar is a Lecturer in the Department of Technology Education at ATU's Faculty of Engineering and Informatics. His research explores additive manufacturing processes and spatial reasoning development in STEM education. He investigates sustainable materials recycling through distributed manufacturing systems and develops pedagogical frameworks for design-based learning.

His technical research focuses on material extrusion optimization, polymer recycling efficiency, and mechanical performance of printed structures. In education research, he examines spatial cognition development and technology integration methodologies for engineering curricula.

Publications demonstrate integration of technical and educational research streams, with recent emphasis on circular economy applications of additive manufacturing and cognitive aspects of engineering design education.

He coordinates laboratory development for additive manufacturing education and contributes to national STEM outreach initiatives.
