Rytas Jakimavičius

Prof. Rytas Jakimavičius is a distinguished ceramist and academic at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA). Since 1989, he has served as a teacher in the Department of Ceramics, and from 2000 to 2007, he was the Head of the Department. A member of the Lithuanian Artists Association since 1984, he has participated in numerous international exhibitions, symposia, and hosted 8 solo exhibitions. His contributions to ceramics have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the 2012 Culture and Art Award from the Lithuanian Government and the ARTZEPT International Design Award (2004).

He has received notable scholarships, such as those from the International Ceramics Studio (2009, 2011), The Clay Studio (USA, 2002), and the European Ceramic Works Centre (Netherlands, 1996). His work bridges art and design, emphasizing ceramic innovation and traditional craftsmanship.
