Ryo Kato is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago, affiliated with the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering. He previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry at Waseda University (2017–2018) before joining the Rowan Group in 2018.
Education:

- PhD in Applied Chemistry from Waseda University (2017), supervised by Professor Hiroyuki Nishide
Research Interests: Focuses on synthesis and application of functional polymers (e.g., redox polymers), stimuli-responsive materials, nanocomposites, and energy storage devices. His work bridges polymer chemistry with advanced materials for technological applications.
Labs/Teams: Member of Professor Rowan’s research group at the University of Chicago.
