Ryan Mruczek

Ryan Mruczek is an Associate Professor and Neuroscience Program Director in the Psychology Department at College of the Holy Cross. His research bridges primate vision, systems neuroscience, and computational models of visual perception, focusing on experience-dependent plasticity and object/tool representations.

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Brown University

His lab investigates visual illusions through psychophysics, including the Dynamic Ebbinghaus illusion and Orbiting Circles Illusion, exploring how motion dynamics modulate size perception. Key projects examine tripolar EEG for enhanced visual-evoked potential analysis and test predictive coding models in human object recognition using high-density EEG.

Recent publications highlight the lab's focus on visual motion perception, contextual modulation, and neural decoding. Collaborations with the University of Nevada, Reno, include evaluating tripolar EEG's information content relative to conventional electrodes.
