Dr. Ryan Connor is an Associate Professor at Corban University, affiliated with the Department of Social Sciences. He teaches in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and provides clinical supervision support for graduate counseling interns at Corban’s two mental health clinics.

Dr. Connor’s research and professional interests include couple and family counseling, crisis and trauma counseling, grief and loss, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, pastor care, healthy spirituality and unhealthy religiosity, and counselor supervision. His work emphasizes the importance of deep listening in counseling to foster understanding and therapeutic growth.
Prior to joining Corban, Dr. Connor worked in diverse clinical settings, including the Prestera Center for Mental Health, the Family Resource Center at Women and Children’s Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia, church-based counseling centers, and private practice. He also brings experience as an adjunct professor at Bushnell University, enriching his academic contributions with practical insights.
Dr. Connor is a licensed professional Counselor (LPC) and an Oregon Board approved LPC & LMFT Clinical Supervisor. Additionally, he has served in pastoral ministry for over 20 years in California, West Virginia, and Oregon, integrating clinical and spiritual expertise into counseling practices.
