Ryan Carlin

Ryan Carlin is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Georgia State University and Director of the Center for Human Rights and Democracy. He is affiliated with the Center for Latin American and Latino Studies (CLALS), the Center for Human Rights and Democracy (CHRD), and collaborates on projects like the Executive Approval Project, Team Populism, and Pollitik. His research spans comparative political behavior, democratic support, populism, and rule of law.

• Education: Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2008)

His work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, United States Agency for International Development, and other prestigious organizations. Current projects focus on executive approval, democratic attitudes, and the intersection of trust and governance.
