Ryan Brown is an Associate Professor at the Department of Radiology, Grossman School of Medicine, New York University. His research focuses on advancing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologies, particularly through innovative radiofrequency (RF) coil array development for high-field and multi-nuclear applications.
- PhD from Cornell University
- Principal Investigator for multiple clinical trials in MRI engineering and diabetic neuropathy
He has pioneered RF coils for metabolic imaging (31P-MRI) and cell viability measurements (23Na-MRI), alongside creating radiotransparent arrays for hybrid systems like MR-guided radiotherapy and PET-MR. His laboratory has produced significant publications in medical imaging, biomechanics, and sensor integration.
The Brown Lab's recent work includes free-breathing hybrid imaging techniques, flexible coil designs for wrist and knee imaging, and triple-tuned arrays for quadri-nuclear brain studies. These advancements have been published in journals such as Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Physics in Medicine & Biology.
