Ryan Brooke Thomas

Ryan Brooke Thomas is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The Cooper Union's Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture. He is Principal of Kalos Eidos, a New York-based design office that integrates architecture, creative practice, and cultural research across scales—from artifacts to urban spaces. He co-founded WIP Collaborative, a feminist design collective focusing on public realm projects, and serves as Co-Chair of AIANY New Practices New York, which supports emerging architects and design discourse.

His research explores spatial, experiential, and social-cultural connections between interiority and urbanism. He advocates for alternative practice models to reshape architectural agency and discourse. Thomas previously led the architecture studio at 2x4, a multidisciplinary firm, managing global projects. He has taught at Syracuse University, Pratt Institute, and Parsons School of Design.
