معرفی
Ruth Margaret Williams is a Reader in Mathematical Physics at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) at the University of Cambridge. She is also an Official Fellow and College Lecturer in Mathematics at Girton College, Cambridge, where she has held roles since 1976.
Her research focuses on discrete gravity (both classical and quantum), primarily using Regge calculus and spin foam models. She investigates the role of holonomy in quantum gravity and the variation of Newton's constant.
Her recent publications explore topics such as:
- Non-perturbative quantum gravity
- Renormalization group behavior of Newton's constant
- Nonlocal effective field equations in cosmology
- Geometric constraints in Regge calculus
- Higher-dimensional quantum gravity
- Simplicial models for quantum spacetime
She collaborates extensively with H. W. Hamber on quantum gravity research. Her work appears in journals like Physical Review D, Classical and Quantum Gravity, and Nuclear Physics B.
