معرفی
Ruth Loos is a Professor at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, leading the Loos Group with a focus on obesity genetics and epidemiology. Her research centers on identifying genetic factors contributing to obesity and related traits through large-scale genomic studies.
Her research interests span genetic etiology of obesity, epidemiological methods for precision medicine, and cardiometabolic health. Current projects investigate the biological mechanisms underlying body weight regulation, genetic determinants through deep-phenotyping studies, and building precision health cohorts using wearable technologies to optimize lifestyle recommendations.
Her publication portfolio shows strong trends in genetic epidemiology, with significant contributions to understanding obesity's genetic architecture and its relationship to type 2 diabetes. Recent work increasingly integrates multi-omics approaches and computational methods for analyzing complex genetic data.
Dr. Loos is a key contributor to the GIANT (Genetic Investigation of ANTropometric traits) consortium, which has identified numerous obesity-associated genetic loci through large-scale gene-discovery efforts.
Her work demonstrates extensive collaboration across international research networks, with significant engagement across multiple ethnic populations and integration of diverse data types including genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic measurements.
