معرفی
Ruth Dill Macky is a Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Minnesota. Her research focuses on economically important diseases of small-grained cereals, collaborating with breeding programs to develop disease-resistant varieties. She holds a PhD in Botany-Plant Pathology from the University of Queensland, Australia (1993), and BS degrees in Botany and Biochemistry from the same institution (1983-1984).
Her work emphasizes host resistance deployment, epidemiological studies of foliar pathogens, and the impact of environmental factors on disease expression. Key projects include managing barley diseases, Fusarium head blight in wheat, and bacterial leaf streak in cereals. She has secured grants from USDA Agricultural Research Service, American Malting Barley Association, and others, supporting her research on disease evaluation, pathogen management, and crop improvement.
Recent research output highlights include contributions to wheat variety registrations with enhanced resistance traits and studies on genetic engineering approaches to combat Fusarium infections. Her collaborative projects span international partnerships and focus on sustainable agricultural practices aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
