Dr. Russell Whiting is an Associate Professor in Social Work and Care at the University of Sussex's School of Education and Social Work. He holds a BA (Hons), MSW, and PhD, with his doctoral research focusing on the history and practice of church-based social work in Britain. He currently serves as Head of Department and teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate social work programs, including modules on child welfare, ethics, and human development. His research interests span religion/spirituality in social work, professional ethics, social work history, and pedagogical innovation in education.
