Russell Trafford is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Rowan University's Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rowan University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the same field. His research interests include digital systems, smart sensors, aerospace systems (particularly cube satellites), control systems, and the IEEE 1451 standard.

Russell has actively contributed to the IEEE 1451 standard and played a central role in Rowan's cube satellite project, launched in 2018. He is a member of multiple IEEE societies, including the Circuits and Systems Society, Education Society, and Standards Association.
