Rupak Timilsina is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Rogers State University in the USA (2024–present). He holds a Ph.D. in Biology from DGIST, South Korea, an M.S. in Interdisciplinary Bioscience and Bioengineering from POSTECH, and a B.Tech. in Biotechnology from Kathmandu University. His professional experience includes postdoctoral roles at UC San Diego and DGIST, and research at the IBS Center for Plant Aging Research. He has also contributed as a Biology Content Writer for Study.com.
His research focuses on Antimicrobial compounds, Retinal Signaling, Plant Molecular Genetics, and Root/Shoot Apical Meristem Development. He explores mechanisms like hormonal signaling pathways and chemico-genetic approaches to understand plant growth and stress responses.
Timilsina has presented interdisciplinary insights into plant root development at conferences such as the International Carotenoid Society Conference (USA, 2022) and the Genetics Society of Korea (Seoul National University, 2018). He teaches courses including Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, and Molecular Genetics. His work bridges fundamental plant biology with applications in clean energy and environmental science.
