معرفی
Rune Berg-Edland Larsen is a Professor in the Department of Geoscience at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. His research focuses on magmatic systems, ore deposit geology, and structural controls on mineralization, with particular expertise in the geology of northern Norway.
Key research areas include:
- Architecture of magmatic conduit systems
- Lower crustal processes and seismicity
- Ultramafic petrogenesis and geochemical characterization
- Structural controls on ore formation
- Mine tailings revalorization
His publications demonstrate a strong focus on integrating geophysical, geochemical, and structural analysis to understand deep crustal processes and ore-forming systems. Recent work examines how volatile-rich melts trigger seismic events in lower crustal environments and characterizes abandoned mine tailings for resource recovery potential.
Fieldwork in Norway's key geological provinces, including Bjørnøya and the Feragen ultramafic complex, supports laboratory analyses of rock samples and geophysical data interpretation.
