Dr Rui Han is a Research Associate in the Biointerface Group conducting EPSRC-funded research on biofilm-resistant liquid-like solid surfaces for flow applications.
Dr Han's educational background:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Newcastle University (2023)
- MEng, Shenzhen University
- BEng, Taiyuan University of Technology
His research spans biomechanics, micro/nanomechanics, and surface engineering with focus on cell mechanics and cell-material interactions. Current work aims to develop advanced biofilm control strategies and accelerate disease treatment through fundamental scientific insights into bacterial cell behavior under osmotic stress and flow conditions.
Dr Han leads the EPSRC-supported project 'Biofilm Resistant Liquid-like Solid Surfaces in Flow Situations' and actively contributes to the Biointerface Group's research initiatives.
