Ruggieri Francesca Gisella Zoe is a Professor of Criminal Procedure Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Insubria, where she has served since 2007. She holds the chair in Criminal Procedure Law, responsible for courses in comparative criminal procedure, juvenile justice, and legal translation. Since 2021, she has been the Director of the Department of Law, Economics and Cultures (DIDEC) in Como. Her academic career includes roles as Coordinator of the Juvenile Criminal Justice Section (2003), International Panorama Section (2005), and membership in the MIUR Register of Auditors (2013) and European Research Council Register (2015).
- Research Focus: Comparative criminal procedure (especially Italian and German systems), digital evidence in EU judicial cooperation, constitutional criminal law, and European Public Prosecutor dynamics.
- Scientific Contributions: Led national PRIN research projects on evidence evaluation, European judicial cooperation, and forensic metrology. Coordinated the EU-funded project on multilingualism in criminal law training (2010-2012).
- Teaching: Offers advanced courses in Comparative Criminal Procedure (8 CFU), Advanced Criminal Procedure (6 CFU), and Swiss Criminal Law (8 CFU) at the University of Insubria.
- Public Engagement: Organized community initiatives like the Sant’Abbondio Days, focusing on current legal issues, and contributed to debates on gender-based violence and environmental criminal law.
