Rudolf Uher is a Professor of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University, holding academic appointments in the Department of Psychiatry, Department of Community Health and Epidemiology, Department of Psychology and Neuroscience, and Department of Medical Neuroscience. He is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and leads research initiatives such as the Canadian Depression Research and Intervention Network (CDRIN-Maritime) and the FORBOW cohort study. His work focuses on early interventions for mental disorders, psychiatric genetics, and personalized treatment strategies.

Research Interests: Dr. Uher investigates early interventions to prevent psychosis, depression, and bipolar disorder. His studies explore pharmacogenetics, gene-environment interactions, and biomarkers for personalized treatment. Grants & Leadership: Leads the FORBOW study (offspring of parents with mental illness) and the SWELL intervention trial. Collaborates with WHO on mental disorder classifications and serves as Associate Editor for Depression and Anxiety.
Labs/Teams: Co-leads the Pharmacogenetics work package of the NEWMEDS project and directs the CDRIN-Maritime hub for clinical depression research.
