Rubén Pío Osés

Rubén Pío Osés serves as a Professor at the University of Navarra, holding dual affiliations with the Faculty of Sciences (Department of Biochemistry and Genetics) and the Cancer Center Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CCUN). He is actively embedded in Cima University of Navarra's biomedical research ecosystem through his membership in the ONCTRAS Translational Oncology research group.

He earned his PhD from the University of Navarra in 1998 with groundbreaking thesis work on "Characterization of DNAse Activity Associated with Secretion Granules of Lymphomononuclear Cells. Involvement in the Autoimmune Response," supervised by Dr. Natalia Maria Lopez Moratalia. His research bridges molecular biochemistry with clinical oncology, focusing on immune cell mechanisms in cancer pathogenesis.

His primary research thrust centers on translational oncology, where he investigates DNAse activity in lymphomononuclear cells to uncover autoimmune implications in cancer progression. This work integrates biochemical analysis of secretion granules with immunological profiling, targeting novel therapeutic pathways for oncology applications.

Within Cima University of Navarra's ONCTRAS group, he collaborates extensively across the university's clinical and research infrastructure, leveraging the Cancer Center Clínica Universidad de Navarra's patient data and biobanking resources to accelerate laboratory discoveries into clinical trials for cancer therapeutics.
