Rozita Dara is an Associate Professor and Assistant Director at the University of Guelph’s School of Computer Science. Her research focuses on privacy-preserving technologies, IoT data governance, ethical AI, and smart farming solutions. She leads the Data Management and Privacy Governance Lab, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to balance technological advancement with societal and ethical imperatives.
Her work spans privacy-enhancing machine learning, blockchain-based data governance in agriculture, and predictive analytics for disease outbreaks. Key projects include smart farm decision support systems, transparency frameworks for AI, and frameworks for analyzing social media data to detect public health trends. She actively collaborates with industry partners to address real-world challenges in food systems, cybersecurity, and agricultural data rights.
