Roy E. Finkenbine is a Professor of History and Co-Chair of the History Department at the University of Detroit Mercy. He serves as Director of the Black Abolitionist Archive and Interim Director of African American Studies.
Education:

Finkenbine specializes in African American history, modern African studies, slave resistance, the Civil War era, and the Underground Railroad. His work focuses on Black abolitionists and their role in emancipation narratives.
