Rotem Tamir

Rotem Tamir is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art at the University of Minnesota, specializing in sculpture and installation art. Their work explores migration, transcultural identities, and belonging, drawing from Sephardic heritage. Tamir holds an M.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.F.A. from Bezalel Academy for Arts and Design.

Research interests include cultural heritage preservation through material practices, nomadic narratives, and the intersection of art with memory. Key exhibitions include Rima: Passages in Sephardic Sculpture (2024), Carriers for Posterity (2022), and collaborations with sound artist Nir Jacob Younessi.
