Ross Ito

CPT Ross Ito is a Lecturer in American Politics within the Department of Social Sciences. His research focuses on security cooperation, institutional capacity building, and U.S.-Latin American relations.

• B.A. in Spanish from the University of Miami
• MBA and M.S. in Business Analytics from Indiana University Bloomington
• M.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS, specializing in Strategic Studies and Latin America

Ross graduated from the Spanish-language Maneuver Captain Career Course at the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC) at Fort Benning, Georgia. He studied Portuguese via the U.S. State Department's Critical Language Scholarship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and spent extended periods in Panama, Brazil, Spain, and Colombia. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, he holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and serves in the Corps of Engineers. A lifelong Boy Scout since 1998, he volunteers with local troops and enjoys outdoor activities in his hometown of Maui, Hawaii.
