Dr. Rosie Doyle is an Associate Professor in Latin American History at the University of Warwick, based in the Faculty of Arts and Department of History. Her academic career includes roles as Assistant Professor (2021–2024) and Senior Teaching Fellow (2018–2021) at Warwick, alongside prior positions at the University of Bristol and University of Kent. She holds a PhD from the University of St Andrews, supported by the AHRC Collaborative Research Project on Mexican history.
Research Interests: Focused on Latin American history, particularly modern Mexico. Current projects include a study of human rights in Mexico since the 1960s, examining interactions between Liberation Theologians, indigenous rights activists, and local communities. Her earlier work contributed to the digital history project on Mexican political pronunciamientos (1821–1876). She employs oral history methodologies to contextualize grassroots movements and social justice struggles.
Teaching: Offers undergraduate modules including Latin America: Themes and Problems, A History of Modern Mexico, and Human Rights in Latin America, as well as a second-year research project. Office hours are Thursdays 10:30–11:30 and Fridays 13:30–14:30 via Teams (temporarily).
Affiliations & Projects: Collaborated with the Institute for the Study of the Americas and the AHRC-funded St Andrews research group. Her work bridges academic research with community engagement, particularly in marginalized regions of Mexico.
