Roser Beneito-Montagut

Roser Beneito-Montagut is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Cardiff University's School of Social Sciences, specializing in the intersection of sociology, technology, and ageing studies. Her research focuses on later life, socio-technologies, and care in networked societies, exploring how digital technologies shape social relationships among older adults. She holds a PhD in Fine Arts, an MRes in Sociology, and multiple degrees in Multimedia and Communication.

Key research themes include digital inequalities in later life, technological ageism, and the socio-cultural dimensions of online interaction. Recent work examines smartphone use for social connectedness, thermal comfort in smart heating systems, and digital lifelines during the pandemic.

She serves on editorial and review boards including Qualitative Research and NIHRCC committees. Teaching focuses on digital society, qualitative research design, and sociological inquiries. Current supervision areas span online affects, elderly technology use, and mediated care practices.
