Rosemary Millar

Rosemary Millar is an Associate Professor in the Division of Liberal Arts at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA). Her teaching focuses on interdisciplinary approaches within Humanities, Literature, and Writing, employing hybrid methods like lectures, group work, and student-led discussions to foster critical thinking and creativity.

• Education: PhD and MA in English Language and Literature (University of Virginia), BA in English and American Literature (Brooklyn College, Magna Cum Laude)

Her research interests emphasize the intersection of academic rigor and artistic expression, often incorporating themes from Star Trek and zombie narratives to engage students in explorations of cultural and social issues. Millar’s career highlights include moderating community dialogues on African American history, implementing a First-Year Composition Orientation program, and collaborating with performance artist Tim Miller.
