Rosemarie Wagner serves as a Lecturer (Preceptor) in Social Studies and Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies for First Years and Sophomores at Harvard University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, where she focuses on political and legal theory examining power structures and modern selfhood.
Her academic credentials include:
- PhD in Political Science from UC Berkeley
- MSc in Political Theory from London School of Economics
- BA in Philosophy & Political Science from Tufts University
Dr. Wagner's research centers on Political Theory and Legal Theory, with specialized expertise in Hobbesian philosophy, the philosophy of self, and modern political thought. She is actively developing two book projects: Laws Living and Armed: The Legal and Political Theory of Thomas Hobbes and How to Be a Person, exploring how legal and non-legal power mechanisms shape contemporary identity.
In her advising role, she provides academic guidance to Social Studies undergraduates through structured office hours and Calendly-scheduled meetings, prioritizing support for first-year and sophomore students.
