Roselinde Kaiser is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she also serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies. She earned her PhD from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2013. Her research focuses on understanding neurocognitive dysfunction in depression and bipolar disorders, particularly in adolescents and young adults, with an emphasis on developmental perspectives. Her RADD (Research on Affective Disorders and Development) Lab explores brain network abnormalities in cognitive regulation and learning, aiming to translate findings into improved treatments for mood disorders. Key interests include neurocognitive risk markers for predicting mood symptom onset, reward processing deficits, and stress-related mechanisms. Dr. Kaiser’s work bridges clinical applications with basic science, emphasizing scalable interventions like self-guided mindfulness for anxiety reduction.
Her research integrates multimodal neuroimaging, computational modeling, and predictive analytics to map brain dynamics associated with anhedonia, impulsivity, and hypomania. She examines how childhood trauma (e.g., sexual abuse) interacts with dopaminergic pathways and stress responses to influence mood disorders. Clinical studies investigate how enhancing neurocognitive functioning—such as through brain-based interventions—can foster mood resilience. Dr. Kaiser’s contributions include advancing transdiagnostic approaches to mental health, leveraging resting-state functional connectivity and graph theory to identify biomarkers for personalized treatment.
She oversees undergraduate education within the department, reflecting her commitment to training future researchers. Her lab’s collaborative projects span developmental neuroscience, computational psychiatry, and translational medicine, addressing both basic and applied questions in affective disorders. Current efforts include predictive modeling of mood trajectories and evaluating cannabis-derived compounds like cannabidiol for depression treatment.
