معرفی
Rose M. Cory is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Michigan, affiliated with the Program in the Environment (PitE). Her research focuses on aquatic geochemistry, photochemistry, and organic geochemistry, particularly the cycling of carbon in Arctic, temperate, and tropical freshwater systems.
- Research Highlights:
- Photochemical and microbial degradation of dissolved organic matter (DOM)
- Role of sunlight, bacteria, and iron in DOM-to-CO2 conversion
- Groundwater dynamics in permafrost and Arctic watersheds
- Climate change impacts on carbon export from thawing permafrost
- Teaching:
- Winter 2016: ENVRN 284 - Environmental Geology

- Email: rmcory@umich.edu
- Phone: 734.615.3199
Her lab investigates DOM oxidation pathways using advanced analytical techniques (UV-Vis absorbance, fluorescence spectroscopy, mass spectrometry) and integrates field observations with hydrological models. Awards include the NSF CAREER Award for her work on iron and reactive oxygen species in DOM degradation.
