Dr Rosanne Broyd is a Researcher affiliated with Lancaster University's Lancaster Environmental Centre and The James Hutton Institute through the STARS Centre for Doctoral Training. Her research focuses on ecosystem ecology, biogeochemistry, and global change impacts, particularly investigating snow cover dynamics and climate change effects on alpine ecosystems. She completed her PhD at Lancaster University in 2022, supervised by Andrea Britton, Andy Taylor, Nick Ostle, and Rob Mills.
Research Interests: Rosanne's work bridges environmental science and climate change, exploring carbon and nutrient cycling in alpine environments and the ecological impacts of shifting precipitation patterns. Recent projects include analyzing plant-soil interactions under ground-mounted solar panels in agricultural systems, contributing to sustainable energy research.
Publications: Her 2022 doctoral thesis examined climate change impacts in oceanic-alpine ecosystems, while her 2025 journal article explores solar panel effects on agroecosystems. These studies highlight interdisciplinary approaches to environmental challenges.
Professional Affiliations: She is part of the Sustainable Soils group at Lancaster's Environmental Centre and collaborates with The James Hutton Institute's Ecological Sciences division. External links include ResearchGate and Twitter (@RosanneBroyd).
