معرفی
Rosanna Asselta is a Full Professor of Medical Genetics at Humanitas University and holds leadership roles as Vice Director of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and President of the Joint Commission. She graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Milan and earned a PhD in Molecular Genetics Applied to Medical Sciences. Her expertise includes genetic data analysis, honed through post-doctoral research at institutions like the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT and Helsinki University.
Her research focuses on genetic epidemiology, molecular genetics of diseases (e.g., Parkinson’s, cardiovascular disorders, and cancer), and genetic variants influencing disease risk. She has published over 140 papers with a high h-index, emphasizing impactful contributions to genetics and medicine.
Prof. Asselta’s awards include Telethon Foundation (2001), EMBO (2004), and the Early Career Investigator Award (2005). Her work spans clinical applications, such as prostate cancer screening strategies and genetic determinants of disease severity in conditions like COVID-19 and cardiovascular disease.
Her articles highlight interdisciplinary approaches, combining AI-driven genomic analyses, population studies, and functional variant characterization. Key themes include genetic risk prediction, rare disease mechanisms, and sex-based differences in immune and hepatic pathologies.
