Rosa Solà is a researcher affiliated with the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), recognized for her contributions to health and nutrition research. She leads studies on the health benefits of natural products, including virgin olive oil enriched with polyphenols and thyme, which protect DNA from oxidation. Her work also involves nutritional interventions, such as evaluating the benefits of 100% natural orange juice through a globally competitive $500k CTNS-funded study with 250 volunteers.
Her research interests span nutrition science, oxidative stress mitigation, and public health promotion. She actively advocates for primary care and family medicine, as highlighted by her recognition as a Member of Merit by the Catalan Society of Family and Community Medicine (CAMFiC). Collaborations include projects with institutions like the CTNS and the URV’s Center for Omics Sciences, where she contributes to multidisciplinary teams addressing metabolic and cellular health challenges.
Rosa Solà has spearheaded community-focused initiatives such as the “Som la pera” project, which engaged adolescents in Reus to improve fruit consumption and physical activity. This intervention demonstrated measurable health impacts, particularly in gender-specific outcomes among participants.
