Rosa Glijn is a PhD researcher at the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI), working under the supervision of Prof. dr. Kène Henkens, Dr. Lonneke van den Berg, and Prof. dr. Matthijs Kalmijn. Her research is conducted within the 'Meer Uren Werkt!' project, focusing on the demographics of part-time work in the Netherlands.
She holds a Research Master's degree in Social Sciences from the University of Amsterdam and a BSc in Sociology from Radboud University. Prior to joining NIDI, she worked as a junior researcher at the Verwey-Jonker Institute, where she participated in research projects spanning labor market issues to gender-based violence.
Her research interests encompass labor market inequalities, the division of paid and unpaid work within families, work-family policies, and intersectionality. Her expertise lies in life course research, labor market analysis, reproductive labor, gender studies, and family sociology. Her publications demonstrate a strong focus on demographic patterns in work arrangements, caregiving trajectories, and gender role attitudes across European contexts.
Her scientific contributions reveal a consistent pattern of examining how social structures interact with individual life choices, particularly regarding work patterns and family dynamics. Her research employs both quantitative demographic methods and sociological frameworks to analyze complex social phenomena related to work, care, and family formation.
Rosa Glijn actively collaborates with researchers at multiple Dutch institutions including NIDI, Verwey-Jonker Institute, and academic universities. Her work contributes to both academic knowledge and policy development in the areas of labor market participation and work-care balance.
