Mr. Rory Abernethy is a full-time PhD researcher and Tutor in Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Stirling. He completed his BSc in Environmental Sciences at the University of St Andrews in 2020, followed by a Research Masters examining Scots pine climate response and carbon sequestration potential. His academic and professional journey includes a fixed-term Laboratory Technician role on a NERC/NSF project analyzing Southern Hemisphere climate datasets.

- Research focus: Ecological impacts of non-native conifers, herbivory effects on tree establishment, and montane ecosystem restoration
