معرفی
Dr. Ronen Fogel is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the BioSENS Research Group within the Biotechnology Innovation Centre at Rhodes University, South Africa. His research focuses on advanced biosensor technologies using aptamers, nanoparticles, and electrochemical methods for biochemical and microbiological applications.
- PhD (2010), BSc (Hons) (2004), BSc (2003) from Rhodes University
Current research explores:
- Development of aptamer-nanoparticle composites for biosensors
- Electrochemical analysis of microbial fuel cells
- Enzyme immobilization strategies using QCM-D and electroanalytical techniques
- Iron-binding antioxidants and oxidative stress mitigation
Publications highlight interdisciplinary work bridging electrochemistry, biotechnology, and environmental science, with recent studies on wastewater-fed microbial fuel cells and phenolic substrate detection. Collaborations with Prof Janice Limson and others demonstrate cross-disciplinary expertise.
Key methodologies include voltammetry, amperometric biosensing, and quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring. Applications span from bioremediation to clinical diagnostics.
