معرفی
Roncesvalles Labiano Juangarcía is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Communication, University of Navarra. Her academic work is deeply rooted in the intersection of media, narrative, and historical memory, particularly concerning the representation of victims of political violence.
Her research interests focus on how terrorism, specifically ETA-related violence, is portrayed in Spanish cinema and literature. She explores the interplay between factual reality and artistic representation, analyzing how victims are remembered and constructed in cultural narratives. These interests align with her involvement in two key research groups: the Digital News Media Research Group and NVM Narrativa, violencia y memoria, which investigate media narratives and collective memory in contexts of violence.
Roncesvalles completed her doctoral studies at the University of Navarra with a thesis titled Las víctimas de ETA en el cine y la literatura: realidad y representación de los damnificados por el terrorismo (1968-2018), supervised by Dr. María del Mar Larraza Micheltorena and Dr. Javier Marrodán Ciordia. Although no formal advisees or scientific awards are listed, her scholarly trajectory reflects a strong commitment to understanding trauma, memory, and journalistic ethics in post-conflict societies.
She is an active researcher within structured academic teams, contributing to ongoing projects on digital journalism and narrative construction of violence. Her work supports broader efforts to document and ethically represent victims in media and cultural production.
