Ronan Doherty

Ronan Doherty is a Lecturer in Sports Nutrition at the Department of Tourism & Sport, Atlantic Technological University, and serves as a Principal Investigator at the Design, Innovation, Creativity, Entrepreneurship (DICE) Innovation Academy. His research focuses on athlete health, injury prevention, and the intersection of sleep, nutrition, and physical activity. He contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.

His research explores topics such as dietary behaviors in Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) athletes, the role of sleep in athlete performance, and nutrition education standards for healthcare professionals. He has published 18 peer-reviewed articles between 2019–2024, including narrative reviews and analysis of healthcare curricula.

Dr. Doherty accepts PhD students and collaborates with researchers across disciplines. His work emphasizes practical applications in sports medicine, public health, and athlete welfare.
