Professor Ronan Bernas is a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Eastern Illinois University. He holds a B.S. in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University, followed by a B.S. in Research Methodology and Quantitative Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Psychology (Committee on Human Development) from the University of Chicago. His research focuses on self-construal, mindfulness, flourishing, quiet ego concepts, Buddhist psychological models, happiness, religious/spiritual thought, and cultural differences in psychological processes.
Ronan has contributed to 30+ peer-reviewed publications, including studies on teacher praise strategies, memory interference, consumer behavior, and interventions for students with cognitive disabilities. His work bridges cognitive, social, and clinical psychology with practical educational applications. Courses taught include Graduate Advanced Statistics, Undergraduate Research Methods, and Statistics. No scientific awards are listed, but he has supervised 18 academic works.
