Ronald Österbacka is a Professor and Director of the Åbo Akademi University Graduate School within the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Åbo Akademi University. His research focuses on Flexible and Printed Large Area Electronics, Paper Electronics, and Charge Transport in Photovoltaic Materials.
Österbacka's work addresses UN Sustainable Development Goals such as Affordable Clean Energy and Climate Action. He has pioneered inverted organic solar cells with efficiency exceeding 18% and bioelectronic platforms for early disease detection.
Recent publications highlight advancements in perovskite solar cell stability, single-molecule detection, and trap state density modeling. His research demonstrates expertise in materials science, renewable energy, and bioelectronic interfaces.
