Ronald Reed

Ronald Reed serves as Associate Dean and Associate Professor in the College of Health Sciences at Sam Houston State University (SHSU), Huntsville, TX. He holds an M.S. and B.S. in Interior Design from Colorado State University and the University of Arkansas, respectively. His professional experience spans over 20 years in residential and commercial design, with specialization in senior living communities (assisted living and memory care).

Reed is a Registered Interior Designer in Texas, an NCIDQ certificate holder (#020474), and a member of IDEC, IIDA, and ISCC. His research focuses on senior living design, color theory, and environmental features influencing perceptions of 'home' in restricted-control settings. He authored/co-authored seminal works like Color Plus Design, Color Studies, and the New Munsell Student Color Set (7th ed., 2024).

Professional roles include Project Design Manager at studioSIX5 (Austin) and Senior Designer at Touchstone Design Studio (Fort Collins). He actively contributes to design education and chromatics scholarship.
