Ronald Cramer

Ronald Cramer is a Full Professor of Cryptology at Leiden University's Mathematical Institute and Head of the Cryptology Group at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam (1997) and an M.Sc. from Leiden University (1992). His research focuses on foundational aspects of cryptology, algebraic number theory, coding theory, algorithms, and complexity theory.

Cramer has held significant academic roles, including Editorial Board memberships in journals like Journal of Cryptology and Designs, Codes and Cryptography. He has chaired major conferences such as EUROCRYPT 2005 and PKC 2008. His contributions span secure multiparty computation, zero-knowledge proofs, and cryptographic protocol design.

Notable awards include the ERC Advanced Grant (2016), Fellowship by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR, 2013), and membership in the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW, 2013).
