Ron Oostdam is a Full Professor in Learning and Instruction at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences' Centre for Applied Research on Education. His work focuses on educational practices, bilingual education, and teacher training, with a strong emphasis on democracy in classrooms and early childhood schooling.
Research Interests: Dutch Social Sciences, Bilingual Education, Teaching Methods, and Primary/Secondary Education. Key projects include 'Omgaan met controversiële onderwerpen in de klas' exploring classroom management of controversial topics.
Awards include the 2022 Research of the Year Award (3rd Prize) and 2021 Runner-Up in the Amsterdam Research Excellence Awards. Active in teacher education innovation, eCoaching methodologies, and feedback systems for preservice teachers.
